Amtrak Police Department Receives Training in Crisis Intervention

This August, the Amtrak Police Department and members of their EAP service attended both the ICISF’s Assisting Individuals in Crisis and Group Crisis Intervention and Techniques for Delivering Bad News for Crisis Response Personnel in Wilmington Delaware.

Our Executive Director had the privilege of presenting these programs to this audience. The group is exposed to multiple critical incidents on a monthly basis across the country. Combined with the everyday pressures associated with the work of law enforcement today, the need for support services is plainly evident. These traumas not only impact the employees themselves, but also their families and agency customers.

The tools learned in these programs are designed to assist team members in supporting these demographics when these critical incidents occur. Encompassing wellness, resiliency, and Peer Support tools these classes helped to enhance the skills already present in attendees in helping others in need.
